Ride A Pet Pet Tier List (2026) – Best Pets Ranked
Current Ride A Pet pet tier list ranking all 30 pets by speed, jump, and income. Kitsune is best overall for progression; Dragon is the best income pet. Updated mid-September 2026.
Quick answer
Kitsune is the strongest pet overall for speed, jump, and general progression, with 1 billion base speed and the highest jump stat (170). Dragon is the better pick if you only care about income, with 300 million base income — the highest on the entire list. If your goal is speed and progression, target Kitsune; if your goal is money, target Dragon.
How this ranking works
Every pet card shows four values that decide its value: hatch chance, base speed, base jump, and base income. Base weight sits at 10 kg across the entire roster, so weight never separates one pet from another — ignore it and read the rest. Base speed gates map progress since faster pets reach rarer eggs; base jump is vertical reach that matters more than its small numbers suggest; base income is a bonus on what you earn while the pet is equipped. Speed and hatch chance climb together for most of the list but not perfectly — the pets that sit far above or below where their rarity would place them are where the useful picks hide. That is also why ranking purely by rarity fails: compare the stat card numbers, not the rarity label. (Spider and Kangaroo are the clearest counterexamples.)

Note on Lion: rankings disagree at that boundary — one comparison places Lion above Ostrich for balance (Ostrich is faster and richer but has 86 jump versus Lion's 120), while another speed-focused ordering omits Lion from its top ten. Treat Lion as a boundary pick and check its card against your own goal before committing.
Mid-game pets worth equipping
Ostrich is the ceiling of the mid-game group and the clearest income jump on the whole ladder, nearly doubling Shark's percentage while also being the fastest of the ten — its trade-off is the weakest jump here by a wide margin (86). Shark, Wolf, and Horse are straightforward upgrades: nothing unusual, just higher speed and income than everything below them with decent jump, which makes them safe to ride through the middle of the game. Snake and Gorilla are rarer than Spider and Deer but only trade that rarity for speed and income, with jump below 100. Crocodile is the transitional pet between the early and mid portions of the list.
Spider and Kangaroo: rarity does not match value
Spider is the standout mismatch in the whole list. At 1 in 25,000 it is far easier to obtain than Gorilla or Snake, yet its 129 jump is the highest in the entire mid-game bracket — higher than Horse, Wolf, Shark, Lion, and even Cheetah. Vertical reach opens routes that raw speed does not, so Spider punches above its hatch chance and is a secretly excellent mobility pet for that stage. Kangaroo does the same thing one step earlier: it hatches at 1 in 3,000, more common than Deer, but carries 125 jump against Deer's 111. Deer edges ahead on speed and income, so it sits slightly higher, but Kangaroo is the better pick if you are still struggling to reach elevated eggs.
Early game: replace the bottom tier fast
Snail is the weakest pet on the list, with 15 base speed and 3% income — fine for the first few minutes, but the moment you get something faster, it is done. Turtle, Sloth, and Axolotl only marginally improve on it; Axolotl at 165 speed is the strongest of the basic starter options. Koala's 300 speed and 95 jump are respectable for how early it appears, but its 5% income is rough and keeps it in the bottom group. Elephant is the milestone of the next bracket, the first pet to break 1,000 base speed. Capybara, Chicken, and Pig are pure stepping stones — once a pet's speed crosses into the thousands, everything in the bottom bracket stops being useful for anything except filling the index.
Income-focused comparison: where the money jumps happen
If your goal is cash, compare base income rather than speed. The biggest jumps: Ostrich (750) nearly doubles Shark's 400; Phoenix (100,000) to Cerberus (30,000,000) is roughly a 300x jump; and Dragon's 300,000,000 is over three times Kitsune's income.

Who should target which pet
Tips
Early/mid game
Do not chase Phoenix or Kitsune immediately. Improve your starter first, then move through Horse, Wolf, or Shark, then Ostrich, Fox, Giraffe, and Cheetah. Learn the route and identify your bottleneck, then verify a target's current acquisition and performance before committing resources.
Late progression
Unicorn, T-Rex, Phoenix, then Cerberus. Cerberus changes the progression curve shape entirely, jumping from Phoenix's 1 million speed to 100 million speed.
Money-focused endgame
Dragon is the money target, with a free Galaxy Egg route at roughly 1% plus a Robux instant-hatch Dragon Egg (also about 1% per roll — purchases buy attempts, not the pet). Place Dragon on the plot for cash.
Coverage-focused endgame
Kitsune is the final mount for map coverage and rare-egg races, with 1 billion speed and the highest jump (170).
Mutations: save resources for keepers
Mutations raise a pet's speed further, which means a mutated version of a mid-list pet can outrun an unmutated rarer one — but only invest in pets worth keeping. Save mutation materials for A-tier and above: if you are going to replace a pet in 10 minutes, there is zero reason to spend resources on it. The currently documented weather-event mutations are Shocked (2x), Volted (3x), Rage (4x), Void (10x), and Eternal (100x), applied to speed, income, and sale value. A live in-game capybara readout was observed changing from $18/s to $57/s after Volted — mutations raise a specific pet's live output, but long-term pet choice should still start with base income. Verify mutation interactions against the live pet card; tier position is a starting point, not a final verdict.
How current this list is
These figures reflect the roster as it stood in mid-September 2026, with a developer update scheduled for September 19 that adds new content — the roster will grow, and placements can shift with balance changes, so re-check stat cards after any patch. The developer does not publish an official tier list or drop table, so all placements are stat-derived community comparisons; every pet's in-game stats card lists hatch chance, base speed, base jump, base weight, and base income, so you can confirm any number yourself before equipping. If the speed value on a new pet's card is lower than what you already have equipped, the new pet is a downgrade regardless of how rare the egg was.
