Ride A Pet Weather Mutations: Event Table, Effects, and Eligibility

Which Ride A Pet weather events grant which mutations, what Shocked and Volted do, how Rage, Void, and Eternal are reported, plus eligibility and upgrade rules.

In Ride A Pet, weather mutations only come from weather events. Five exist in the current meta: Thunder (Shocked), Volt (Volted), Rage, Void, and Eternal — each event shares its name with the mutation it applies. Every event lasts 5 minutes, and each has an equal chance to spawn whenever the server's weather changes.

Tips

Thunder → Shocked

The Thunder event applies the Shocked mutation to eggs and pets.

Volt → Volted

The Volt event applies the Volted mutation to eggs and pets.

Rage, Void, Eternal

These events share their names with their respective mutations and follow the same 5-minute duration.

Spawn timing

Each event has an equal chance to spawn whenever the weather changes; no fixed schedule or timer is documented.

Confirmed effects: Shocked and Volted

Both Shocked and Volted are consistently reported with speed, income, and sale value multipliers:

ShockedThunderx22x2x
VoltedVoltx33x3x

Rage, Void, and Eternal: reported effects

Rage is consistently reported at 4x cash and 4x speed. Reports on Void and Eternal currently conflict, so treat these values as unconfirmed until you can verify them in-game:

Data table

Data table
MutationEventReported Effects
RageRage4x cash and 4x speed (consistently reported; described as the highest speed multiplier in one report)
VoidVoidConflicting: 10x across speed, income, and sale value — or cash-only 10x with Rage as the highest speed boost
EternalEternalConflicting: 100x across speed, income, and sale value — or cash-only 100x with Rage as the highest speed boost

If you want to settle this yourself, check a Void- or Eternal-mutated pet's speed directly during the next matching storm and compare its movement against a Rage-mutated pet.

Which pets and eggs can be mutated, and how to position them

During an active weather event, all eggs on the map become mutated, and eggs you've placed in your pen for hatching can also catch a mutation — so placing high-rarity eggs in the pen and waiting before hatching is recommended. Pets in your pen have a chance of catching a mutation, though the exact percentage is not published. The pet you are currently riding can also be struck, but a fast-moving mounted pet can overrun the exact spot where lightning strikes and miss it entirely, so keeping your best pets inside your base during a storm is the safest positioning. Pets stored in your inventory cannot get mutated. Weather mutations can affect any pet regardless of Age or rarity.

Stacking and upgrades

A single pet cannot hold multiple mutations at once. However, if a pet that already has a mutation is struck by a higher-tier mutation during a storm, the weaker mutation is automatically replaced and upgraded — for example, Shocked replaced by Volted. The reverse never happens: low-tier mutations cannot overwrite or downgrade higher-tier ones. Eternal sits at the top of the current chain, so any existing mutation is replaced if the pet is struck by Eternal lightning. A successful strike covers the pet in electric effects across its body, confirming it has been mutated.

Freshness notes

Weather events have no announced end date, but the current event list and multipliers reflect the release meta. Mutation names, effect values, and event behavior should be rechecked after game updates, and the Void/Eternal speed-vs-cash conflict above should be resolved in-game before you rely on it for planning.
